Description
The authors report on 163 cases of stereotactic biopsy with subsequent implanation of iodine-125 or iridium-192 in 80 cases. Progress observations document the favourable effect of interstitial isotope therapy in deliminated low-grade gliomas and recurrences of extracerebral tumours, as well as the effect of external irradiation of the neuroaxis in dysontogenetic tumours. Histological diagnosis, however, is the prerequisite for therapy decision-taking, which can be obtained at low risk using the CT-(MRI-)stereotactic technique. (orig.)

Es wird ueber 163 Faelle einer stereotaktischen Biopsie mit anschliessender Implantation von Jod-125 oder Ir-192 in 80 Faellen berichtet. Verlaufsbeobachtungen dokumentieren den guenstigen Effekt der interstitiellen Isotopentherapie bei abgegrenzten niedergradigen Gliomen und Rezidiven extrazerebraler Tumoren sowie der externen Bestrahlung der Neuroaxis bei dysontogenetischen Tumoren. Voraussetzung fuer die Therapieentscheidung ist die histologische Diagnose, die ueber die CT-(MRI-)sterotaktische Technik risikoarm zu gewinnen ist. (orig.)Additional details
