Scopo di questo documento e' quello di effettuare un'analisi di tale forma di trattamento dei rifiuti, intesa come anello ineludibile di un moderno sistema integrato di gestione, cercando di evidenziarne vantaggi e svantaggi, sia in confronto ad altre forme di trattamento sia fra le divese opzioni impiantistiche attraverso le quali esso puo' essere realizzato e, nello stesso tempo, di delineare un quadro di riferimento di possibili scenari di sviluppo futuro
