Plasma spectroscopy with fast neutral lithium beams

  • 1. Technische Univ., Vienna (Austria). Inst. fuer Allgemeine Physik

Description

Electron density and impurity ion concentrations in the edge of a magnetically confined fusion plasma can be determined with excellent spatial and temporal resolution by virtue of a neutral lithium diagnostic beam. In the present contribution the principles of this diagnostic method are briefly described and recent applications for Tokamak edge plasma spectroscopy are presented. The applicability for diagnostics of ECR plasmas for multicharged ion production will be shortly discussed. (author)
