Description
The present paper has as objective the standardization of a radioimmunoassay method for measurement of androstenedione. Ethyl ether was used for plasma extraction. The sensitivity of the method was 6,8 pg/tube; the reproducibility (inter assay error) was 15,6%; the precision (intrassay error) was 5,2%. As biological control, 20 ovulatory women showed median plasma values of 1250 pg/ml and 24 women with polycystic ovary syndrome presented median plasma values of 2.037 pg/ml.
