Study on the oriented 145Eu nucleus decay

Description

The decay of 145Eu → 145Sm nuclei oriented at superlow temperatures has been studied for the first time in order to refine the 145Sm nucleus level scheme. 145Eu(Tsub(1/2)=5.93 days) has been obtained as a result of Er deep splitting by 660 MeV protons with the following radiochemical release using a mass-separator. 145Eu ions have been instilled into a foil made of pure iron. Gamma-radiation has been registered simultaneously under 0 and 90 deg angles to the direction of the external magnetic field using Ge(Li)-detectors. Parameters of the parent nucleus orientation and multipole mixing for a great number of 145Sm transitions have been obtained in the energy range of Eν=111.1-2513.4 keV from the angular distributions of gamma-radiation of oriented nuclei. Spins of some 145Sm levels have been established unambiguously or refined in the 893.7-2513.3 keV range. The results obtained have been tabulated. A discussion of the results obtained has been carried out. To analyze the 145Sm lower-energy states, the quasiparticle-plus-phonon nucleus model has been used
