Shell-model study of the nuclear A=43 system
Description
The three-particle shell-model spectra of 43Sc and 43Ca are calculated using realistic and empirical effective interactions and model spaces of various sizes. Core-polarization corrections evaluated in various approximations are included in the realistic interaction. Reasonable results are obtained for energies and single-particle spectroscopic factors of states which experimentally are found to have mainly (pf)3 structure. However, inclusion of core-deformed states seems necessary for a proper description of electromagnetic data. (auth.)
