Synthesis and atomic structure of a new yttrium germanate Y7Ge2O12(F,OH)5

Description
Crystals of a new oxygermanate are synthesized by means of hydrothermal crystallization in the system KF-Y2O3-GeO2-H2O (T=450 deg C, P=1500 atm). The monoclinic base-centered cell parameters are the following : a=5.551(1), b=11.287(2), c=12.121(2) A, γ=108.84(1) deg, Z=2, sp.gr. A2/m, ρclcd=4.86 g/cm 3. Y1- and Y2-heptahedrons, Y3-octahedrons and Ge-tetrahedron contacting with each other via vertices and ribs form a common cation structural skeleton
