Complexation of Hg(II) with iodide and ammonia in alkali medium

Description
Complexing in the system K2HgI4-KI-NaOH-NH3, depending on the medium pH and ratio of the components, was studied by the methods of spectrophotometry and solubility. It was ascertained that in alkali medium a low-soluble compound featuring composition NHHg2IOH and colored polymer complexes of mercury(II) containing nitride nitrogen are formed along with variable number of iodide ions and hydroxide ions formed in autocatalytic reactions
Abstract (Russian)
Методами спектрофотометрии и растворимости изучено комплексообразование в системе K2HgI4-KI-NaOH-NH3 в зависимости от рН среды и соотношения компонентов. Установлено, что в щелочной среде образуются малорастворимое соединение состава NHHg2IOH и окрашенные полимерные комплексы ртути(II), содержащие нитридный азот, а также переменное количество иодид-ионов и гидроксид-ионов, образующиеся в автокаталитических реакцияхAdditional details
