On the thermomagnetic instability for ionospheric modification by powerful radio waves

The paper discusses a possibility to excite thermomagnetic instability in ionosphere through an impact of a powerful land-based radiometer on ionosphere F-layer located in the external electric field. Threshold of instability occurrence and instability increments are determined. It is shown that such instability can occur in local regions of enhanced plasma waves
