Multi-MW ion beam accelerator systems in the nuclear power sector
Description
The application of heavy-current high-power accelerators in the nuclear power sector is described, and the new method of electronuclear power generation based on accelerator-controlled subcritical reactors is demonstrated to be a modern, economically convenient and environmentally friendly alternative in nuclear power generation for the future. The feasible technical designs are outlined and an overview of the variant approaches to the implementation of MW-power accelerator-controlled systems is given. (author)
