Description

Weak Interactions are well defined in Standard Model of particle physics which provides the probe to explore the unanswered questions regarding fundamental properties of neutrinos and dark matter physics. Coherent elastic scattering of neutrino with nucleus (vAel) is one of the challenging weak interaction process. This year (vAel) scattering process is observed at Oak Ridge National Laboratory with stopped pion neutrinos having energy upto ∼ 53 MeV at less degree of coherency. The development of vAel detection technology for neutrinos below 10 MeV can provide the tool for realtime monitoring of reactor and solar processes with high degree of coherency. The TEXONO experiment is using point contact Germanium detector technology towards the observation of vAel process for reactor anti-neutrinos. The research program is based on the development of ultra-low-energy Germanium detectors with sub-keV sensitivities. TEXONO-CDEX collaboration for dark matter searches is also working with Germanium detector technology at CJPL underground laboratory to probe dark matter mass region upto few GeV. (author)
