Control rods
Description
Purpose: To obtain control rods for use in BWR type reactors comprising Hf alloy materials excellent in the corrosion resistance in high temperature water and having a long life time. Constitution: One or more of Fe, Cr, Ni and Nb is added to a Hf alloy containing a small amount of Zr. The addition amount is suitably from 300 to 2000 ppm. The Zr content is suitably from 2 to 5 wt%. The corrosion resistance of the Hf alloy can be improved by the addition of the trace elements as described above. (Ikeda, J.)
