Description
Irradiation masks are indicated when it is not possible to reposition the patients exactly for each individual irradiation using the conventional ways of positioning the patients. This might be the case with very nervous patients or with very flexible parts of the body, such as the head-throat-region. The material of the masks consists of a 2 mm thick PVC-foil which can be formed under a temperature of 1800C. Other qualities of this material are its permeability to radiation, its transparency and its keeping its form after production. (orig.)

Bestrahlungsmasken sind dann indiziert, wenn es mit der herkoemmlichen Patientenlagerung nicht moeglich ist, diese bei jeder Bestrahlung exakt zu reproduzieren. Sei es bei unruhigen Patienten oder bei sehr beweglichen Koerperteilen wie z. B. im Kopf-Hals-Bereich. Das Maskenmaterial besteht aus einer 2 mm dicken PVC-Folie, die bei einer Temperatur von 1800C formbar ist. Weitere Eigenschaften dieses Materials sind seine Strahlendurchlaessigkeit, Transparenz und Formbestaendigkeit nach Anfertigung der Maske. (orig.)Additional details
