Description

Experimental and numerical investigations of the thermonuclear system ''torus-linear'' (TL) are presented. Main TL features are a quasispherical form of a heavy shell and closed magnetic configuration in its cavity. TL consists of three functional parts: shaping chamber and compact torus heating, transport channel with coils for creating a leading field, acceleration and liner compression system comprising a multitime pushing coil capacitance storage with commutators and low-inductive current guide, profiled liner and toroid capture coils in the liner chamber. As a result of the experiment quasipherical closed cavity shaping is reached after face collapse in 20 μs with cavity 2,5x105 cm/ rate. The plasma toroid has been replaced from the shaping chamber through the transport channel into the liner chamber without noticeable energy and magnetic flux losses and captured in the linear chamber. The dependences of electrodynamic acceleration system efficiency and compression coefficients on initial plasma pressure for battery energies 2x105 and 6x105 J. Are given oscillograms of the pushing field in the liner-coil gap and total acceleration system current are given. The calculation is in perfect agreement with the experiment
