Description

In an SU(5) model of the electroweak-strong interaction, a mass relation m/sub u/,c,t(M approx. = 1014 GeV/c2)=2 √2m/sub d/,s,b(M), and others are obtained by the Higgs mechanism consisting of 10/sub F/ x 10/sub F/ x 5/sup asterisk//sub H/, 5/sup asterisk//sub F/ x 5/sub F/ x 24/sub H/, and 5/sup asterisk//sub F/ x 10/sub F/ x 5/sub H/ couplings. The renormalization corrections to the mass relation give m/sub u/,c,t(μ2=10 GeV2/c4)=3.072m/sub d/,s,b(μ), which is in good agreement for the heavy quarks. The Kobayashi-Maskawa mixing angles for (d,s,b), (u,c,t), and (e,μ,tau) are predicted to be approximately the same if the effect due to the mass differences is neglected
