Study on analytical prediction of flow boiling CHF

  • 1. Kyoto Univ. (Japan)

Description

Accurate evaluation of maximum heat load is quite important for various power plants. For the purpose of this, it is needed to predict critical heat flux (CHF) for various flow conditions. Experimental correlations are often used for the prediction of flow boiling CHF. However, the applicable range for these correlations is restricted within the experimental conditions which these correlations are derived from. In this study, using detailed analytical model of boiling two-phase flow, wide range of CHF including dryout and DNB was successfully predicted for various flow conditions. (author)
