Description

The critical heat fluxes (CHFs) in subcooled boiling of water in a short vertical tubes with the inner diameter of 9 mm, the lengths of 100 and 150 mm were measured for the flow velocities ranging from 4.0 to 13.3 m/s, at the pressure of 800 kPa. The CHFs versus the inlet subcooling at each flow velocity were divided into first, second and third groups, which were similar to the cases of the tube length of 50 mm. The CHFs decrease as L increase. The effect of tube lengths on CHF is discussed. (author)
