Description

Calculational results relevant to the physics characteristics of PuO2/UO2-fueled light water high converter reactors (LWHCR) are discussed in the context of three particular codes and their associated data libraries, viz. WIMS/D, KARBUS (GRUCAH) and SPEKTRA. Analysis of various critical experiments - from the PROTEUS-LWHCR Phase I and Phase II programmes in particular - has demonstrated the importance of having a representative and comprehensive integral data base for identifying specific shortcomings in the calculational tools employed.
