Synthesis of amorphous yttrium and neodymium silicates and their thermal transformations
- 1. Leningradskij Gosudarstvennyj Pedagogicheskij Inst., Leningrad (USSR)
Description
By the method of precipitation from aqueous solutions of yttrium and neodymium ethylenediaminetetraacetates and sodium silicate amorphous silicates of yttrium and neodymium, which do not contain any impurities, have been synthesized. When the amorphous silicates are calcinated, phases of the Nd2Si2O7 and NaY5Si6O2 composition are crystallized. The crystallization process is observed in a narrow temperature range. Crystal phase of neodymium silicate, having unusually low formation temperature, is prepared
