Description

Eddy current and stress analyses of plasma vessels involving the toroidal bellows and cylinder in a Reversed Field Pinch (RFP) device were carried out. It was confirmed that the one-turn eddy current flows in the vacuum vessel just after the plasma decays and the saddle-shaped eddy current flows in the toroidal shell as the one-turn eddy current decreases. The results presented note that the eddy current and stress analysis considering both the toroidal shell and the vacuum vessel are inevitable for the reactor design of an RFP device. (orig.)
