Nature of a recurrent source of gamma and X-ray bursts in Dorado

Description

A flaring X-ray pulsar in Dorado FXP 0520-66 was discovered in the KONUS experiment on Venera 11 and 12. This paper discusses observations of this pulsar and examines the possibility that FXP 0520-66 is a neutron star. A theoretical model of FXP 0520-66 is developed with regard to Alfven wave energy transport, and the possible properties of the optical component are considered
