Comparison of the efficiency of the carbon steel passivation in solutions of hydrazine and oxygen-containing water

Description
Operation conditions of the secondary circuit of NPP with WWER under hydrazine-ammonia water conditions are considered. Specifically, the description and results of test bench tests of steel 20 samples in oxygen- and hydrazine-containing medium in reference to formation of a magnetite protective film on metal surface are presented. It is shown that clean surface of steel 20 after being allowed to stand for 44 h in oxygen- or hydrazine-containing water at 160 deg C is covered with a magnetite protective film. The films are not destroyed for idle period up to 30 days. In case of longer idle periods it proved advisable to use oxygen in concentration up to 50 μg/l
Abstract (Russian)
Исследуются условия работы второго контура АЭС с ВВЭР на гидразинно-аммиачном водном режиме. В частности, приводятся описание и результаты стендовых испытаний образцов из стали 20 в условиях кислород- и гидразинсодержащей среды по образованию на поверхности металла защитной пленки из магнетита. Показано, что чистая поверхность стали 20 после 44-часовой выдержки в кислород- или гидразинсодержащей воде при 160 град С покрывается защитной пленкой магнетита. Эти пленки не разрушаются в течение простоя до 30 суток. В случае более длительных простоев целесообразно применять кислород с концентрацией до 50 мкг/литрAdditional details
