Ray tracing analysis of slow wave heating in the ion cyclotron range of frequencies in Uragan-3m torsatron

Description
Ray tracing analysis of slow waves (SW) propagation and absorption was used to obtain a qualitative description of ICRF heating by Frame-Type Antenna (FTA) in Uragan-3M torsatron. These issues were studied using ray code ''RayU3'' which takes into account real torsatron geometry. The dependences of SW propagation and absorption on the plasma density, temperature and the antenna location are determined. Calculated profiles of absorbed RF power depending on boundary temperature for a set of rays are also presented.
