A new form of the coefficient of the charged-particle beam linear transformation in a magnetic quadrupole element

Description
The motion of charged particles in a quadrupole magnet is considered using a new method. A new and simpler form of the linear transformation coefficient has been obtained. Some methods are found for the graphical determination of the parameters of a magnetic quadrupole element and of the linear transformation coefficients. (orig.)
