Radiolysis of polycrystals of platinum (2) tetraamminocomplexes

  • 1. Moskovskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ. (USSR)

Description

The behaviour of tetraammine complexes of platinum (2) (chloride, bromide and iodide) under the effect of γ-irradiation is studied. In the limits of the absorbed doses of 100-2000 Mrad the dose rate is 2 Mrad/h, the compounds investigated decompose with the separation of ammonia, platinum and halogens passing the stage of trans-tetraammine formation. At that, no oxidation of the initial compound of divalent platinum with radiolysis products is observed. The radiation-chemical stability of the compounds decreases in the series: chloride>bromide>iodide
