Calculation of parameters of technological process of titanium soldering using molybdenum-nickel barrier coating

Description

Suggested is a method for calculating the parameters of soldering which would prevent formation of nickel-titanium intermetallides during soldering and the subsequent use of the item, and provide for high quality of the soldered joints. The parameters have been estimated for soldering of OT4 titanium alloy covered by a molibdenum-nickel coating by PSr68 copper alloy. The optimum thickness of the coating found experimentally is 10 mcm. If formation of Ti-Ni intermetallides on account of Ni diffusion to titanium through the molibdenum coating is prevented, the strength of Mo-Ni covered titanium alloy soldered joints with the copper alloy proves higher than the strength of the latter
