Regge cuts and large-mod(t) pp scattering
Description
It is shown that recent measurements of the large-mod(t) pp elastic-scattering differential cross sections at FNAL and CERN-ISR agree with earlier predictions based on the dominance of a pomeron pole (P) with αsub(P)(t)=1.067+0.10 t, and a PXP cut, out to the largest measured mod(t) values (12 GeV2). Some of the problems raised by this success are discussed. (Auth.)
