Hyperdynamic hemangioma with proximal arterioportal shunting: a rare manifestation

  • 1. Department of Radiology, China Medical College Hospital, 2, Yuh-Der Road, Taichung 404 (Taiwan)

Description

Arterioportal shunting, when associated with hemangioma, is usually small, peripherally located, and without hemodynamic significance. Proximal arterioportal shunting occurring in hemangioma has rarely been reported. Herein we report a patient with renal cell carcinoma who simultaneously was found to have a hyperdynamic hemangioma in the liver. The imaging features were confusing and evoked diagnostic difficulty before operation. (orig.)
