Description
Three sodium aluminium hydroxo-oxalates have been prepared and gamma-irradiated at 77 K and 293 K. ESR measurements were carried out with an X-band spectrometer. Two different stable paramagnetic species were produced at 77 K and only one, or none, were produced at 293 K. Results indicate that the oxalate in the aluminate matrix acts as a storage site for absorbed gamma energy. (U.K.)
