Recent advances in fast photomultipliers

Progress has been made recently in the development of fast photomultipliers. Three types of subnanosecond time resolution photomultipliers are reviewed. The microchannel plate tubes provide a fast pulse response with high linear currents. Time response FWHM is up to 187 ps
