Description

Void coefficient reactivity is a reactor kinetics factor for safety of reactor operation. The value of void coefficient reactivity is required to show the change of Core reactivity caused by decreasing water density. Calculation of the void coefficient reactivity has been done for to RSG-GAS Silicide fueled with the densities of 2,96 gr U/cc and 3,55 gr U/cc. Calculations were carried out by means of SRAC-PIJ module for cross section generation and SRAC-ASM BURN for core reactivity. Calculation results showed that RSG-GAS silicide fuelled have negative void coefficient reactivity. RSG-GAS silicide fuel with the densities 2,96 gr U/cc and 3,55 gr U/cc have void coefficient reactivities about -1.424x10-3 Δk/k/% and -1.311x10-3 Δk/k/%void, respectively. The value of void coefficient reactivity is smaller than that in the first design, -1.311x10-3 Δk/k/%void. Indeed, convertion of fuel from oxide 2.96 gr U/cc to silicide 2.96 gr U/cc and to 3.55 gr U/cc does not affect for void coefficient reactivity significantly
