Irradiation effects on the thermal conductivity of pyrolytic graphite irradiated at 80 K
Description
Changes in the a axis thermal resistivity of hot pressed pyrolytic graphite caused by neutron irradiation at 80 K and by subsequent annealing have been measured. The analysis of the function K(T) after each pulse of the annealing is made using two types of relaxation time for the points defects induced by irradiation. This means that two types of defects are present. The recovery of the first type shows various stages in accordance with the stages determined by Iwata and al. in the recovery of the electrical resistivity. The annealing of the second type occurs above 400 K like the defect observed by Rouby et al. using internal friction. (orig.)

Es wurden Veraenderungen des Waermewiderstands entlang der a-Achse von warmgepresstem pyrolytischem Kohlenstoff gemessen, die durch Neutronenbestrahlung bei 80 K und nachfolgender Waermebehandlung entstanden waren. Die numerische Analyse der Funktion K(T) nach jedem Waermeimpuls wird mit Hilfe von zwei verschiedenen Relaxationszeiten fuer die strahleninduzierten Punktdefekte durchgefuehrt, was auf das Vorhandensein von zwei verschiedenen Arten von Defekten hindeutet. Die Erholung des ersten Fehlertyps findet in verschiedenen Stufen statt, die den von Iwata et al. beschriebenen Ausheilungsstufen des elektrischen Widerstands entsprechen. Die Ausheilung des zweiten Defekttyps erfolgt oberhalb von 400 K wie bei dem von Rouby et al. mit Hilfe von innerer Reibung beobachteten Defekt. (orig.)Additional details
