Trial for kinetic estimation of injected lipiodol in malignant liver tumors by dynamic CT study
- 1. Kagoshima Univ. (Japan). Faculty of Medicine
Description
Lipiodol (Lip) distribution in hepatic tumor was evaluated by dynamic computed tomography. There were two types of serial Lip retention in the tumor; one was that Lip stain began at tumor periphery and went tword the central portion. The other was that although Lip stain began at the periphery, it skipped to the central portion next and spread to the other portion lastly. The hypervascular and a-or hypovascular tumors tended to show the former and the latter, respectively. This difference suggested that oil chemoembolization may be better to precede arterial infusion of water-soluble anticancer agents in hypervascular tumors. (author)
