Description

Nature is getting contaminated day by day harming people, wildlife and plants. Main sources for environmental contamination are industrial wastes, agricultural wastes, carbon based materials, natural and inorganic materials, and microorganisms. Nanotechnology-based techniques have opened up new methods for the removal of environmental pollutants. It has been applied to several industrial and domestic fields. Nanotechnology-based techniques can be used for soil remediation, degradation of compounds, pesticides, waste water treatment etc.The main objective of our research is to develop nanomaterials for effective environmental decontamination delivering eco-efficient products, study of alternative techniques, methods and new systems for de-contamination of contaminated natural resources. The structural, physical, thermal and optical properties of the synthesized/ fabricated nano-systems will be investigated by using advanced techniques like XRD, TEM, SPM, AFM, SQUID,LCR-METER, PE-LOOP, UV-VISIBLE, Z SCAN etc. Conservation of our ecosystem is very important for our life. We need to take steps for preventing ground water and surface water contamination, which provides good and healthy atmosphere to human and other animals. In this proposed method, developed nanomaterials for environmental remediation will be cost effective for the treatment of contaminated sources. In addition the method may also be utilized for the decontamination of toxic wastewaters from industries at the point of origin itself. (author)
