In-service inspection of process instruments and reactivity control mechanisms

Creators

  • 1. Research Reactor Maintenance Division, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai (India)

Description

Nuclear research reactors, like any other operating process plant, employ a large number of instruments for monitoring process parameters. Besides monitoring the parameters, these instruments also protect the primary systems against unacceptable deviations and activate safety devices. In reactors where the power regulation is performed by varying the moderator level, closed loop instrumentation systems are used. In-service inspection and Preventive maintenance programs are established with respect to structures, systems and components important to safety of nuclear reactors
