Radiocarbon dating of the trees buried under tephra of the vulcano Pektussan in the north Korea
Description
First radiocarbon datings of the age of five buried trees of the south-east foot of the vulcano Pektussan, which occupied the time interval (680-990)±40 years ago, were obtained. Radiocarbon dating of buried trees was equal to (1050-1120)±70 on the north side and 1410 year ago - on the east side. Results of radiocarbon dating enabled to create chronological series of 16 natural events, related with acceleration of volcanic activity in this region
