Investigation of the longitudinal beam distribution due to coherent synchrotron radiation in the PLS storage ring
Description
We examine the effect of the wakefield generated by the coherent synchrotron radiation in electron storage rings on the longitudinal beam distribution, with particular emphasis on the Pohang Light Source (PLS) storage ring. Both the Vlasov equation and multi-particle tracking are utilized in order to obtain the equilibrium longitudinal beam distributions due to the coherent synchrotron radiation. The results of the Vlasov method are shown to be in good agreement with those of the multi-particle tracking method
