Status of the heavy-ion RFQ linac ''MAXILAC''
- 1. GSI, Planckstrasse 1, D-6100 Darmstadt, W. Germany
Description
An RFQ linac for heavy ions such as /sup 127/I+ has been constructed at GSI. It is a prototype of a fusion driver, and it will serve to bring up the intensity of the existing heavy ion linac, UNILAC, by several orders of magnitude. Some beam test results are given. Ions are accelerated from 2.3 to 45 keV/amu
