Research and development in France in the field of pressurized water reactors

The articles contained in this issue summarise the research and development activity carried out in France in relation to the PWR's fuel (The R and D activity devoted to the nuclear boiler has been covered in RGN, 1988, vol. 2). The articles describe the aims and programmes currently being developed in relation to the following major items: - fuel rod behaviour; - fuel assembly behaviour; - fuel performance in the field of reactor improved manoeuvrability, i.e. load variations and remote control; - plutonium recycling; - R and D works carried out in hot laboratories; - R and D works carried out in experimental reactors

Abstract (French)

Les articles publies dans ce numero font le point sur les actions de recherche et developpement conduites en France dans ce domaine des combustibles pour reacteurs a eau sous pression. (La R et D consacree a la chaudiere nucleaire a fait l'objet d'un dossier presente dans le precedent numero.) Les textes presentent les objectifs et les orientations des travaux de R et D a la faveur des themes suivants: - le comportement du crayon combustible; - le comportement de l'assemblage; - l'aptitude du combustible au suivi de charge et au telereglage; - le recyclage du plutonium; - les travaux de R et D menes dans les laboratoires chauds; - les travaux de R et D menes dans les piles experimentales du CEA
