Description
Radionuclides used in radiation ablation therapy of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) lack self-targeting and face challenges in homogenous dose distribution. 32P, a potent β emitter with several desirable features of co-ordination with cellular biomolecules can easily overcome the challenge of dose distribution. However, a major hindrance in this direction is to effectively deliver 32P into target tissue. This study is an attempt to successfully synthesize modified chitosan coated magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) for the delivery of 32P to HCC cells. Designing a polymer- ligand coated MNPs for the delivery of 32P to hepatoma cells. 32P labelled galactosylated chitosan-coated magnetic nanoparticles can be synthesized through similar mechanism and aimed to target hepatoma cells
