Description
Long-lived isomeric states in stable nuclei 111Cd and 115In have been excited by the Compton-scattered γ rays from 60Co. The flux of the scattered photons at resonance has been calculated in the single-scattering approximation. Using the observed γ activities of sup(111m)Cd and sup(115m)In and the calculated photon flux, the integral cross sections for the isomer production by photoexcitation of 111Cd and 115In have been evaluated to be (3.5 +- 0.4) x 10-25 cm2. eV and (1.9 +- 0.1) x 10-25 cm2.eV, respectively.
