Investigation of the muscular blood supply of arterio-sclerotic patients by 133Xenon-clearance

Description
50 patients suffering from obliterative vascular diseases being in the Fontaine stadia II-IV have been investigated. It is concluded that neither the diabasic distance nor the site of obstruction show any correlation with the 133Xe-clearance. However, the muscular clearance significantly increases after successful reconstructive operations. Thus, the method seems to be useful for the quantitative measurement of ischaemia. (L.E.)
