Device for investigating subcritical crack growth of RPV steel specimens under BWR conditions
Description
An experiment is being prepared to investigate the subcritical crack growth of RPV steel specimens under cyclic load and under the environmental conditions of a BWR with regard to primary water and irradiation. The experiment will be carried out in the VAK (Versuchsatomkraftwerk) Kahl. The experimental setup is composed of an open frame to which a string consisting of five compact tension specimens (40 mm thickness) and connecting links is fixed. The specimen chain is set under cyclic load by a pneumatically actuated bellows unit. Specimen train, crack opening and specimen temperature will be measured. (orig.)

Zur Untersuchung des Risswachstumsverhaltens in RDB-Staehlen unter Bestrahlung, zyklischer Belastung und gleichzeitiger Einwirkung des Kuehlmittels wird im Rahmen des Forschungsprogramms Komponentensicherheit ein Experiment vorbereitet. Dazu wurde ein offener Einsatz konzipiert, der in den Druckbehaelter des Versuchsatomkraftwerkes Kahl eingehaengt wird. Der Einsatz besteht aus einem stabilen Rahmen, in dem ein Strang aus Bruchmechanikproben (CT40) mit Hilfe einer pneumatischen Zugvorrichtung einer zyklisch wechselnden Last ausgesetzt wird. Zugkraft, Rissaufweitung und Probentemperatur werden waehrend der Bestrahlung gemessen. Zur Neutronendosimetrie werden Aktivierungsmonitore eingesetzt. (orig.)
