Description
The radiation reduction of Hg22+ ions in aqueous solutions has been studied by impulse radiolysis. ESR, and optical spectroscopy techniques. The Hg2+ ions, formed during reduction, reacted rapidly with Hg22+ to give Hg43+. The constants of formation and destruction were determined for these ions. The destruction process of this particle results in the formation of more complex clusters. having six or more Hg atoms. Further process of complication of clusters gives the colloid metal particles
