Measuring of coherent bremsstrahlung of 900 MEV electrons in a diamond at proton-electron energy ratio <=0.15

Description

Technique for measuring the deg.ree of linear polarization of coherent electron bremsstrahlung by integral characteristics of angular distribution of one of the particles of an electron-positron pair formed in a converter of the pair magnetic spectrometer is developed. The obtained experimental data are compared with the results of calculations by the theory of coherent bremsstrahlung at the ratio of photon energy to electron enerqy <= 0.15. It is revealed experimentally that when turning polarization plane by 90 deg the degree of polarization as well as all the other characteristics of a γ-beam remain, practically, constant, that permits to use the obtained γ-beam in experiments on studying electromagnetic hadron interactions (for exapmple, γd → pn, process) with polarized photons in the initial state
