Description
For research work in the field of superconductivity a 300W, 1.8 K refrigerator built by Linde AG, Germany was put into operation in 1971. This refirgerator is connected to several experimental set-ups. As the refrigerator is designed for multipurpose use it is possible to use it also as a liquefier and as a refrigerator at 4.4. K and higher. Experience which has been gained during operation of the refrigerator and the 4.4. K magnet refrigeration cycle is reported. Future installations are discussed. (U.K.)
