Magnetic and spectroscopic properties of some vanadium(3) complexes with nitrogen containing ligands
Description
The structure of vanadium(3) complexes with azoles (pyrazole and thiazole) and 4,4-bipyridyl was examined. Physical properties, the reflectance and infrared spectra, as well as the results of magnetic measurements revealed that the compounds under study were the hexa-coordination polymers or dimers, containing chloride bridges. The V(3) complex with 4,4-bipyridyl contains also the ligand bridge and for that reason it is characterized by a high thermal stability and by a considerable lowering of the magnetic moment. (author)
