Corrosion of refractory metals and alloys in liquid lithium (review)

Description
A review of works on the problem of refractory metal and alloy (stainless steels, vanadium, titanium alloys, etc.) corrosion in liquid lithium is presented. Three main types of interaction are singled out: dissolution of basic metal, alloying elements or impurities in liquid metal; redistribution of implanted elements; penetration of liquid into solid metal. Mechanisms of the above-mentioned processes are considered in detail
