XPD23 polymorphism in radiation workers

  • 1. Pusat Teknologi Keselamatan dan Metrologi Radiasi - BATAN, Jl Lebak Bulus Raya No. 49 Jakarta Selatan (Indonesia)

Description

DNA repair systems are responsible for maintaining the integrity of the genome and have a critical role in protecting against mutations that can lead to cancer. Substantial variation in the intrinsic response of individuals to radiation can be seen from the polymorphism of DNA repair genes. DNA repair systems are responsible for maintaining the integrity of the genome and have a critical role in protecting against mutations that can lead to cancer. The aim of this study to detecting the presence of polymorphisms of DNA repair gene XPD 23 in radiation workers by PCR-RFLP. From a sample of radiation workers obtained band with a size of about 200 bp and 250 bp showing the AA genotype. (author)
