On the role of isoscalar bosons in lighter nuclei

Description
A boson analysis of shell-model wave functions in a single j-shell of neutrons and protons is used to investigate the importance of isoscalar (T=0) bosons. In particular, we study their role in beta decay and in the spin matrix elements of certain M1 transitions. (orig.)
